The images from this movie have stayed with me all these years. The metaphor of the sci-fi "thingie" to get inside someone else's head, images, and emotional life is kind of a romantic's dream given flesh.
That this is a double edged sword is assured. I'd like to see it updated and redone, but who would play the Natalie Wood role? Or the Chris Walken? It would require actors who could credibly play scientists.
Most of the youngsters topping the bill these days look more like underwear models.
