Variable acting and a plot that veers off to a less interesting tread doesnt stop Brainstorm from being an engaging and thought-provoking watch. Hats off to Louise Fletcher for stealing the show as a chain-smoking scientist whose demise leads to the possibility of scientists exploring what's beyond.
