The word "odd" comes to mind early and often. However, the plot is fairly interesting, and, for their time, decent special effects hold interest.
I was a bit disappointed with the ending, it felt like a cheap out and a lead in for a sequel, but it wasn't terrible. It felt like it was played almost too safe, almost like it was a Nickelodeon horror movie.
Overall the movie was a fun way to kill an hour and a half, partly because I wanted to beat the crap out of the "best friend", and partly because of it's pretty cool premise.
