Review of Brain Dead (1990) by Al M — 10 Aug 2012
The one film to bring Bill Paxton and Bill Pullman together, Brain Dead is not quite as intelligent as it wants to be; however, it is a thoroughly entertaining piece of sci-fi/horror that features plenty of laughs, twists, and gore to keep fans of B-level cinema delighted.
Brain Dead aspired to the mind-warping, reality-bending status of films like Videodrome, but it ultimately just feels tedious and stupid before the end. Still, it is a fun piece of late 80s horror....
