Review of Boyz n the Hood (1991) by Brett H — 11 Mar 2012
An important commentary on the state of LA back in the 80-90s. The most important part of the film is Furious Styles speech towards the end. I thought the acting was good, even Ice Cube (Though it's not hard for him to be himself) story was ok, nothing special obviously because it's something that goes on there all the time.
I thought it was good, emotional, but I felt it was going to be darker. Most of the film seemed kind of upbeat, just surviving the everyday life in LA.
