Review of Boyz n the Hood (1991) by Anthony I — 21 Jul 2014
A powerful and important film of the 1990's. It does for crime in inner cities what "Do the Right Thing" did for race relations. The performances are the most amazing, primarily from Cuba Gooding Jr.
and Ice Cube. John Singleton's films might not have the same stigma than that of Spike Lee's, but they rival in moral correctness. Point being, "Boyz n the Hood" is the MLK to Spike Lee's Malcom X.
