Review of Boys Town (1938) by Patrick M — 14 Jun 2007
One of those overlooked classic older films. Mickey Rooney is at his finest with the portrayal on Whitey Marsh and Tracy is heartfelt as Father Flanagan. One can't help but cry when Whitey is running into the street after "Pee-Wee" is hit by an oncoming car.
It's too bad that the Catholic priests society and their involvement with young boys now gives this film a slightly uneasy mood.
