Review of Boys Town (1938) by Dylan D — 24 May 2006
It really was amazing at how Spencer Tracy transformed himself into an icon in american history. Father Flannigan was a truly great person who really transformed troubled youth into good people. Mickey Rooney was awesome as a juvenile delinquent who was always getting into trouble and never respected authority.
I'm surprised that he didn't recieve the oscar as well as Spencer Tracy. Also, I was dissapointed that, "There's no such thing as a bad boy." wasn't voted as one of the greatest quotes in history.
That to me sums up the whole personality of Father Flannigan. Boys Town is definetely one of the most inspirational movies I've ever seen, and it is one of the greatest too.
