Review of Boys Town (1938) by Daniel S — 25 Aug 2009
Based on the true story of Father Flannigan, a catholic priest who faught for years against a flawed system to take boys off the streets. In a time when homeless youth was sent to reformitories, Flannigan had to fight both the courts and the public.
Spencer Tracy gives a heartfelt performance as Father Flannigan. And a very young Mickey Rourke co-stars in this heroic tale of determination and truth.
