Review of Boys Don't Cry (1999) by Jonathan I — 02 Jun 2013
Extremely powerful movie based on a true story. Slightly confusing in that new characters just appear with no indication of their relationship with the existing characters, but that's probably the way it seemed to main character Teena/Brandon in her obviously confused state.
Shocking at times, unlike most Hollywood fare, but then that's the truth of life. Outstanding performance by Hilary Swank, truly deserving of the Oscar she received for it.
