Starts a bit slow, a lot of the story is complicated by the need to remind the viewer that it has been recoreded over a certain timeframe...also, it's pretty much done in life phases, so it wouldn't have been hard to use different actors and/or makeup/cgi to do a good enough job of getting the story across.
Having said that, it is a good movie, and it's weird flicking back through the movie to see the changes over the years. Also, I secretly hope they release a version of it called Girlhood covering the sister in more detail, she ended up being the more interesting character to me.
