Review of Boyhood (2014) by Bill T — 16 Mar 2015
Pretty much a gimmick movie. Follows a kid from about 6 til he's 18, and also follows his family progress, sometimes lack thereof as well. Pretty much the only thing that makes you go wow is that yes, Linklater made this over a span of 12 years, but after that, what else? Sure Arquette delivers a great performance, but Linklater loves writing dialogue for himself sometimes and we have to sit through it.
