Filmed over a twelve year period of Ellar Coltrane's life, 'Boyhood' is not only a serious achievement of cinematography, but also a fascinating "coming-of-age" narrative about growing up with a dysfunctional family and the love and hardships that come with being a teenager through the eyes of a growing boy.
