As far as experiments in DV filmmaking go, there's no denying Boxes has ambition. A satire on the cubicle environment, there are moments of wit, but they feel few and far between. I also wondered if we're supposed to empathize with the main character: an insufferable jerk whose constant narration grated quickly.
