Review of Bounty Killer (2013) by Roland M — 17 Apr 2016

The world is in shambles due to corporate greed and corruption so to bring about peace, hope, and restore world order bounty killers have been hired to rid the criminals that infect a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

Mary Death and her partner Drifter are two of the best that collect the fame and money as well as the thrill of the kill.

Things go south when Drifter has a bounty on his head and Mary has no choice but to answer the call.

This movie plays out like a more cartoonish-version of 'Mad Max' but to be fair it is based on a Kickstart graphic novel.

A lot of the players are largely unknown so the only people you do know are more supporting players like Kristanna Lokken, Gary Busey, and Beverly D' Angelo.

But Marsden and Pitre are a lot of fun watching them banter back and forth and funny enough it's all about a little love story.

The other fun part is to see cool action and tons of over-the-top violence.

There's also some political subtext about starting the world over with a clean slate because of bankruptcy and not having to put up with government intervention like taxes, minimum wage or union members.

It can be viewed as pure capitalism.

I was a bit dismissive at first but just like 'Bitch Slap' this film makes the end of the world pretty insane yet so cool.

It's meant to be silly and there isn't anything to not have fun with it.
