Review of Bottle Shock (2008) by Astrid T — 27 Sep 2008
This is a "little" independent movie, and you'll be lucky if you can find it in your city, since it is playing in limited release. It's a shame, really, because this movie is very well done.
It has beautiful scenery, a good story, great insights into the wine-making process and you can learn about Napa's history. But if for nothing else, you should go see this to witness another stellar performance by Alan Rickman.
What he does with just facial expressions, the way he delivers dialogue ..... he has me mesmerized just by appearing on the screen! Why is it that he hasn't received an Oscar yet? But anyway.... Alan gets 5 stars! - But all the other performances are up to par as well.
All in all very enjoyable!
