Review of Bottle Shock (2008) by Andy G — 09 Mar 2009
In 1976 the French held a blind taste test to determine if the new Nappa Valley region of California could really make wines that compared with those of their own classics.
Bottle Shock is the true story of Jim and Bo Barrett and their Chateau Montelena vineyard.
I have always liked Bill Pullman, so it was nice to see him in this. I have also been a fan of Alan Rickman since Die Hard. I always get such a kick out of the characters he portrays. I loved that Eliza Dushku was cast as Joe. She is stunning and I always seem to be mesmerized by her. I just wish she had more screen time in this one. Also, I like Rachael Taylor in this film. She is a beautiful actress as well.
Bottle Shock is a good movie, I did enjoy it. Although for the most part the film did seem very slow.
I am an avid wine fan, a self proclaimed wino if you will. I think I would much rather drink the wine, then watch a story about it. But, it was a good movie.
