Review of Bottle Rocket (1996) by Jack G — 27 Feb 2011
WAY better than I expected. I saw this once years ago but had no memory of it much at all, except that I liked some of it. Watched it again and loved it. This is Wes Anderson with fantastic characters making up a heist movie with a real innocent sense about it.
This isn't a gritty neo-noir ala Coen brothers, it's just about three friends who go through ups and downs with their bond and with one's love interest, and the heist stuff is treated like (extremely well-filmed and timed) plot pieces.
also, never will be a better use of the Rolling Stones 20th Century Man in a movie again, ever.
