Review of Born to Be Wild (1995) by Forever N Luv W — 15 Aug 2009

Great movie from my childhood. I'll admit, though, that the last time I watched this movie was when I was about 8 years old, and I never knew that gorilla wasn't a real gorilla. That fact, of course, was readily apparent this time around, but it may have added a new element of amusement for me as I saw how obviously fake the gorilla was.

However, despite the second-rate gorilla effects, the human actions of the gorilla, and especially the interactions between the gorilla and Rick are still amazingly hilarious. The "emotional" ending of the movie is another downside, but the rest of the script just keeps the laughs coming.

The two cops are great, as well. Most definitely worth watching.
