Review of Born on the Fourth of July (1989) by S P — 21 Feb 2008
Powerfully tough film based on the true story of Vietnam veteran and anti-war activist, Ron Kovic. War's horrible effects on the innocent are greatly portrayed by Cruise and the rest of the cast. Its only real downfall is that it feels about a half hour too long.
Still, an emotionally charged story of a soldier who had everything and therefore, everything to lose.
