Review of Born on the Fourth of July (1989) by Vivienne Y — 10 Feb 2010
Not really sure of what it wants to say, so let's assume it was meant as a historical reenactment of Ron Kovic's trials and tribulations. In that case, Tom Cruise was easy enough to look at and sympathize with when he worked hard enough, but the depth of mental, emotional and physical torture would have been pushed further by a more artful actor who didn't always rely on shouting to show pain.
