Review of Born into Brothels: Calcutta's Red Light Kids (2004) by Jenny U — 29 Aug 2007
I loved this movie. I believe that it was an honest portrayal of the red light district in India, and it did not offer happy endings or simple solutions to these children's complex problems. The story of Avijit was truly moving.
I wish that the directors would do a follow up documentary on the lives of these children; sadly, I am sure that all of their futures are bleak. Overall, it is a well-made documentary.
