Review of Born into Brothels: Calcutta's Red Light Kids (2004) by Samantha S — 04 Jan 2008
This is probably the most important documentary of our time. Zana briski takes us inside the world of the brothel and we see how children in such harsh circumstances attach themselves to art and the way it changes their lives.
There are some remearkable stills of photographs some of the kids took while shooting the film and you cant help but feel inspired. Sad, yet deeply moving potrayal of third world society.
