Review of Born into Brothels: Calcutta's Red Light Kids (2004) by Steven B — 06 Feb 2008
The problem isnt necessarily the material, although, I have noticed a lot of heartstring tugging documentaries that serve little purpose aside from activating the guilt complex among anyone who does not live in a similar place to where the events of the film transpire.
I mean, come on, of the majority of people who see this film I guarantee you the percentage of people who actually do something about it is next to none. but the real problem is that the scenes dont seem to connect well and dont give us much of a clear and distinct narrative.
that and its too long.
