Review of Born into Brothels: Calcutta's Red Light Kids (2004) by Kyle F — 05 Oct 2008
Touching and difficult portrait of kids who grow up in the red light district of Calcutta as the children of prostitutes. An American photographer teaches them how to use a camera and promotes their work in an art show.
She uses her influence to get them into schools, but only manages to save a few of the girls from following their mother's profession.
