Review of Born into Brothels: Calcutta's Red Light Kids (2004) by Sridevi R — 25 Oct 2008
What is the solution for kids born into brothels? If brothels are illegal, wipe them out totally. If you let them stay, make them legal. Give PF, medical facility, protection against violence, schooling for their kids and hence hope for a better life for the next generation. Simple, isnt it?
Then why does the system (law makers and law keepers) pretend ignorance and turn a blind eye? Because it suits a male dominated country like ours. Convenience without responsibility. Wonder where human rights is lost in our "democracy"?
This movie will tug at your heart strings. It will also make you feel guilty for being a passive Indian who turns a blind eye to all wrongs thats happen here.
Watch it.
