Review of Boogie Nights (1997) by Ryan B — 01 Mar 2015
An excellent fast paced sexually charged beautifully acted homage to the porn industry. The movie is about a few years in the lives of a porn family, crew, the director and his girlfriend and fellow actors and the fore mentioned dirk diggle. It about their loss , tribulations, fights, arguments, bad hibts, sex, and murder all rolled into one. A pretty strong film to watch. Wonderfully acted by mark whalberg, burt reynolds in a career making role, julianna moore at ehr sexiest best, don cheadle proving to be another great african american actor, phillipp baker hall as a degenerate porn producer, thomas jane a coke addict and phillip seymour hoffman as a gay camera man. With a wondefully waeven script and great directin and 70's infused music makes this an unforgetable cinematic experience.
Absolutly one of the ten best of 1997. you must own it.
I must have seen it more than twenty times. Plus a great soundtrack.
