Review of Bonnie and Clyde (1967) by Jake G — 15 Oct 2009
BONNIE AND CLYDE is a good film. There are parts in which the tempo slackens and the pace becomes sluggish, but that was probably the intention of director Arthur Penn: to show the jejune aspects of life between heists.
The film's final sequence is the highlight of the film for me. One gets the feeling that shots are being fired not only at the film's protagonists, but also at the MPAA and the archaic studio Hollywood that existed at that time.
A breakthrough for independent filmmakers and a solid entry in the gangster genre, BONNIE AND CLYDE is reccommended viewing.
