A film with a remarkable legacy. It redefined violence in movies, it controversially cast its criminal protagonists in a sympathetic light and is perhaps one of the films most responsible for bringing an air of freshness to the then stale American cinema, that was competing with television for popularity, with the American New Wave.
Warren Beatty, who is also the producer, and Faye Dunaway are iconic, while Arthur Penn's bold direction which mixes the gritty graphic violence with romanticism so well. The ending sequence is among the best of all time.
