This is supposed to be a classic right? So why did I hate it? There are some classic scenes but overall it didn't age well for me at all. I guess the story was original for it's time but the performances are outdated 60's style camp for the most part.
Gene Wilder especially was just worthless. Is he supposed to play a stuttering person? I couldn't tell. At first he seems fine then later on in another scene he's stutters. In another scene in the car he actually laughs when they're chasing his car which bonnie and clyde just stole.
Am I missing something? Should he be pissed and eager to catch them? It's as if they just used the first take. Really!? And the editing was blatantly shoddy. Was that done on purpose? I don't get this movie.
Either I'm missing something or this movie didn't age well at all. This movie is a pile of horse shit next to The good, the bad and the ugly, which I just saw as well so it's probably not me.
