Review of Bonnie and Clyde (1967) by Paul J — 24 Jun 2012
The gangster movie that was heavily influenced by the French New Wave. Which was ironically influenced by old Hollywood gangster movies. Bonnie and Clyde started a revolution. It was sexually bold, brutally violent in ways in which we had never seen in Hollywood before and the young lovers rebelling against society was relevant at that time.
The two leads were exceptional and Beatty was instrumental in getting this film made. Kudos to the writers as well. Benton went on to do great things.
