Bone Tomahawk blends the western genre with horror elements that surprisingly work but without its excellent quartet of performances and the writing and direction of Zahler it wouldn't have worked quite so well.
The film is not for the faint of heart, however the grit and realism displayed in the final act really puts the S in savage.
