When some troglodytes kidnap settlers from Bright Hope, it's up to four men to go into the wilds and get them back, even if death is certain.

This film is slow going, yet, awesome. The acting is great, it is shot beautifully, the sense of dread never leaves because we know what they are going up against. The character development is great, you really get to know these guys and feel for them when the shit hits the fan. Kurt Russell is great as is the rest of the cast and the realisation of the brutal Indian tribe they are up against is pretty original, especially the way they communicate with each other. One negative, the running time, could have skimmed about 20 minutes off. I dig Westerns and this one was a satisfying watch. Brutal.
