Review of Bone Tomahawk (2015) by Jim S — 23 Sep 2018
Bone Tomahawk is what so many films today aren't: Honest, Gritty, Unforgiving, and Unapologetic, all while creating a narrative and truly making the audience CARE about the characters about whom the story is told.
With today's endless focus on a barrage of over-the-top special effects, concurrent A, B, C, and D plots, and general feeling of "just throw noises and colors at them, they'll forget what's happening and just eat more popcorn" it's a joy to see a film take the time to truly tell a tale.
As an added bonus, Craig Zahler delivers a completely uncensored visual that shows what true horror can be. (not for the feint of heart). 5 out of 5 would definitely watch anything with Zahler's name attached (yes, even the Puppetmaster installment he did).
