Review of Bokeh (2017) by Damon W — 11 Apr 2017
Less is sometimes more depending on the style of the director. Not so with "Bokeh". The movie's spare offering as a contrast to today's flash, boom, bang CGI special effects are a refreshing change of pace.
Nuance is the idea. I get it. But, " Bokeh" gives up far too much in its attempt to be a more character driven narrative. Like credibility and interest, in very unflattering portrayal of human beings as weak, unambitious, and as a consequence just plain boring.
Shot in picturesque Iceland, it's a marvel to see in some scenes. Just bring a pillow. The repetition of the characters cyclical experience will put you to sleep.
