Review of Boi (2019) by Jluis_001 — 12 Jan 2021
I must say that if you aspire to be cryptic you must know that the narrative depth must match your ambitions.
Ideas are abundant in this film, the lack of a cohesive execution is what is simply not seen anywhere, because that attempt to fill the story with strange characters who feel out of place but who somehow seek to give it a kind of surrealism to it, it feels tired and more than anything unsuccessful and this is for a simple reason: You don't give a damn about the main character and his journey.
I understand this is the debut of its director and if so, it shows.
I do not recommend it.
