Review of Bohemian Rhapsody (2018) by Tina W — 12 Nov 2018
Full disclosure, I am a big Queen fan.
That said, I thought the movie was great! I learned things I did not know about the band and the members. I learned PLENTY about Freddie's "questionable" lifestyle without going in to every bed he slept in. IMO that is not necessary for a movie about the band. There are plenty of places to learn gory details about his escapades as a gay rock star.
I was very sad in specific places, especially at the end. That was when I realized that the loss of Freddie Mercury was bigger than it felt back in 91.
Queen changed music for us and the movie lets us know we have Freddie to thank. If you liked Queen, even a little bit, you will like this movie. Don't let critics prevent you from seeing something entertaining. It will make you feel good.
Oh yeah, cool that the audience ranged from 12 to 75 years old. You don't see that very often these days.
