Review of Bohemian Rhapsody (2018) by Jim C — 05 Nov 2018
This was probably the best movie I've seen in a long time. I loved the story that was told with the music throughout. And while there are many dramatic scenes and Freddie had some terrible lows, I love how the movie didn't get played as tragic like some of the other biopics.
You could tell that the other members of Queen truly loved Freddie and wanted to tell his story and honor him with this movie. The movie ended with the Live Aid performance and it was like watching it for the first time after seeing everything that had happened.
The detail and the accuracy of the performance of Live Aid was amazing but it felt different after seeing Freddie's life. It gave it all a deeper meaning. And what else can you say about Rami Malek? I've always thought he was an amazing actor, but he really showed it in this movie.
This is easily the best performance of his very early career. Stop listening to critics and go right to the audience reviews. The critics have lost touch with the audience.
