I went into this movie just wanting to know a bit more about Queen; I got it and a little more. I love that the story really is about their relationship and not just Freddie. There are no earth shattering revelations or dark secrets.
Freddie lived his life in full color and that is what we always got to see but this does touch on the heartbreak and loneliness he must have felt. Some critics are complaining that the movie doesn't delve into the story enough but, let's be serious, the true story of Queen would take several hours to play out.
Rami Malek is brilliant as Freddie. The entire cast is great. The most fun has to be Mike Myers, as a record executive declaring that Bohemian Rhapsody will never be "... the kind of song teenagers can crank up the volume in their car and bang their heads to.
'Bohemian Rhapsody' will never be that song." spoken by Wayne himself :-) Not to mention, the music is amazing! Go see it!
