Review of Bohemian Rhapsody (2018) by Jason S — 03 Nov 2018
This was a great movie, they gave most of the fans what they wanted in a biopic, yes of course they glossed over a lot of the actual history but that is going to happen when you only have 2-3 hours for a movie.
And above all else despite what so many naysayers talk about not doing Freddie Mercury justice I disagree I think he would have been proud of this movie and how it depictured him. It established his sexual orientation and his love of mary which is incredibly well documented, what also is well documented was his want of a private life and not wanting to be a poster child for being gay! He wanted people to love him for him and not look at his sexual orientation which I think a lot of people fail to remember.
just because with this day in age everybody pushes for poster childs and making stands doesn't mean everyone wants to be. He wanted to be remembered for his music and this movie shows off the music of queen quite well!!! In the end there is a reason the user score is so high and the critics are just tearing it down and so far from all the articles I read it's becuase they didn't focus completely on his gayness! Which as I stated I don't think he would have wanted that, this movie was consulted by the people that knew him best not the people who want to push agendas! Freddie was an incredible person and is well remembered for his music, flare and incredible personality which is what he would have wanted.
