There are roles that come along that make an actor shoot to another stratosphere of stardom. Some roles people were born to play and some roles actors take ownership of and make it their own. Rami Malek absolutely worked his ass off to be Freddie Mercury and deserves to be honored for it.

The scene of him reenacting Live Aid will become legendary. That scene alone should win him the Oscar, but he will have some really really tough competition this year. Ignore the critics- the performance and music make this movie a 9 out of 10.
