Review of Body Snatchers (1993) by Ricardo V — 23 Aug 2007

Body snatchers is the third installment of the pod people, like philip kaufman's 1970's rendition, this film is extremely good. I would go through emotions trying to figure out which one was better, but all in all, these two are on-par with each other.

the first thing that got my attention is simply how beautiful the film is shot, in the lighting choices, attention to setting detail, it all comes together to form an interesting palette. it's a surprisingly good film, however, I believe this film is an allegory to the AIDS epidemic like how the first movie was about the Red Scare, the second was about the Vietnam War (i believe), but I didn't see what this movie had to say in terms of how it related to AIDS.

all in all though, great film.
