Review of Body Snatchers (1993) by Gordon C — 30 Nov 2009
This story must have a particularly enduring resonance, having been filmed four times now. I read one reviewer's comment somewhere who felt that this was the best version. I don't agree, but it is quite good, and worth seeing.
What always puzzles me is why people should be so horrified at the idea of being turned into soulless, emotionless zombies. I look around at people on the train to work in the mornings with their dead eyes and expressionless faces, and I can't help thinking most of them are already there.
The other day, as I was walking down the street, a young girl pointed at me and opened her mouth in a nerve-wrenching shriek. But hey, I am pretty ugly. That sort of thing happens all the time. It probably has nothing to do with alien infestation.
Or does it?
