Review of Body Snatchers (1993) by Mikhail R — 01 Oct 2011
Body Snatchers has a slow first half that can be likened to a lesser episode of The X Files, but its second half really gets going. The sense of dread from earlier versions in 1956 and 1978 isn't the same.
The paranoia and the fear of people isn't all there, but it tries other things from the other adaptations. The film takes place on an army base and the main character is a teenage girl (Meg Tilly), giving the audience a different perspective on a pod people invasion.
The make up effects are very well done and some of the best ever done for a B movie. Body Snatchers is an okay movie, being a minor adaptation of a good story, but still worth checking out.
