Review of Body of Lies (2008) by Marcus F — 26 Jan 2010
Topical and prosaic. That's the first two words that come to mind when thinking of how to describe this film. Both in a negative sense, by the way. However, as bland and unoriginal as the movie is, it's still an entertaining watch.
DiCaprio and Crowe are on form, this isn't Crowe's Gladiator performance, but hey, for what it is, it's good enough. Nothing much about this movie makes it great, and the only reason it's rated above average is because there is enough suspense to keep you entertained, and of course, the acting is good.
Not too bad, just nothing great. But hey! If we didn't have mediocrity, we wouldn't have greats either!
