Review of Body of Lies (2008) by Jeff B — 15 Aug 2010
Body of Lies is a bit of a mixed bag. The actions and depth of our characters is something out of a James Bond movie, yet Ridley Scott shoots it in a very real fashion. It almost lends some weight to the incidents that follow, but thereâ??s only so many times you can see Leonardo DiCaprio get beaten to shit.
Still, itâ??s an enjoyable thriller. The acting is top notch and the movie never really stops for a breather. Maybe thatâ??s its problem though. It doesnâ??t take the time to flesh out our characters, and why we should care about them.
Still, I gotta give the movie props for calling attention to Russell Croweâ??s weight.
