Review of Body of Lies (2008) by Geoffrey T — 11 Apr 2012
The fly-on-the-wall style of this only succeeds in a cold, empty, disengaging film with nothing going for it except the fantastic Russel Crowe. For a movie that goes out of it's way to explain itself on every occasion, nothing makes any sense.
It's a jumbled mess, which is not surprising considering it came from William Monahan. However, his scripts usually make up for their lack of emotion with intelligence. Not this one.
