Review of Body Heat (1981) by Darryl J — 08 Sep 2008
Something tells me that Lawrence Kasdan has seen Double Indemnity a few times.
This was a great film noir with excellent performances from Hurt and Turner. If you know anything about film noir, you know how this might end but that's not really why I watch these kind of films. The fun in watching this was not the payoff but everything leading up to that point. The characters and the dialogue were perfectly written. Kasdan wrote a script that, instead of paying homage or coming off as a parody of 40's noirs, proves that it could stand along with the best of them.
