D.A. Pennebaker's documentary following Bob Dylan on this 1965 tour of England. This is a fascinating insight into the real Dylan. He appears extremely uncomfortable with the importance attached to him by both his fans and the media.
The film shows various sides to Dylan; he is intelligent, witty and charismatic, yet at the same time he can be aloof and cruel. Watching him toy with Terry Ellis is painful, though his loss of temper is understandable.
In essence this film shows Dylan as being human, rather than the unwilling firgurehead for a raft of causes.
