Review of Boarding Gate (2007) by Tim M — 22 Apr 2009
You really have to be attuned to Assayas' unique style of filmmaking to get the sleek sinew of Boarding Gate. It shouldn't be so hard considering the masterful use of sound and cinematographic orchestration and best of all the sexy and spellbinding charm of Asia Argento.
It's a story about unrequited love and how the power of it can force us to do things we never knew we could do because we probably never wanted to do it in the first place. There's a potent drama in that.
